2018 Ford Expedition

Ford has been making several big moves when it comes to their new line up for the 2018 year. This trend can be seen with the 2018 Ford Expedition. This year, it will be lighter and will feature even more room inside than ever before. The body is now made of aluminum which allows for the weight savings. The new frame also extends the wheelbase by 3 inches and the length of the SUV is now one inch bigger. Altogether, it weighs about 300 pounds less than the previous model year and can carry 8 people even more comfortably.

Forty New Features

According to Ford, there are at least 40 new features in the new model year. These features also include some driver-assist technologies that can really help the 2018 Ford Expedition stand out from the competition. With the auto market being currently ruled by SUVs, with 44% making up the auto industry, it is no surprise that this segment grew and Ford decided to put a new focus on the SUV. One of the new features is the panorama roof that can be used in a variety of ways, including on night trips, to get more fresh air, and more. There is even more room inside, as mentioned, but there are also ways that you can organize your things better with the cargo management system that includes hidden bins and shelves for all of your gear. You can keep everyone connected with the in-vehicle Wi-Fi that is designed to work for up to 10 devices and is even idea to use for camping. You even have Sync 3 included and options for Sync Connect and more. Your road trips and camping trips just became that much more awesome.

New Power

While the engine is remaining the same from the previous model year, the 2018 Ford Expedition does get a new transmission: the 10-speed automatic transmission. It is even operated by using a rotary knob. This provides the SUV with even more power than before. The exact specs of the power and economy have not yet been released by Ford but we can expect that they will both improve slightly. It will also have four-wheel drive and electronic limited-slip rear differential available for better adaptability on the roads. Beyond the power in the engine set up, there is also more towing capability available. Ford has improved the towing capability to ensure that it is the best available in the market for its category. The exact updates and improvements have not yet been released, however.

There are still a few mysteries that surround the 2018 Ford Expedition but one thing is certain: it will be bigger and better than last year’s model.
