Certified Pre-Owned or Used Ford Cars: A Look at Why Certified Pre-Owned Makes Sense

When you see used Ford or Lincoln for sale you may be tempted to give it second look. And who would blame you, everybody is up for saving a few bucks. While there's nothing wrong with buying a used Ford or Lincoln, there are advantages to getting your hands on a certified Ford or Lincoln. We've taken some time to look at five reasons to consider a certified Ford or Lincoln before you decide to get a used Ford or Lincoln. more Inspection Before you buy any vehicle you want to know that there are no hidden gremlins or bugs that are going to give you trouble in the future. But do you have the time, knowledge, and facilities to give the vehicle a thorough inspection? Probably not. But with a certified pre-owned Ford or Lincoln you'll know that there has been a complete inspection by a qualified mechanic. That means you can rest assured that the vehicle has met the muster required to carry the pre-owned certified placard. Refurbishment With certified pre-owned Fords and Lincolns, if the inspection turns up anything that's out of order then it is refurbished or replaced. That in itself gives you the peace of mind in knowing that not only had the vehicle been gone through by a qualified mechanic, but also that any issues that have been found have been taken care of. In order for a vehicle to wear the certified pre-owned placard, all systems must be up to snuff. Manufacturer Backing When a Ford or Lincoln gets the certified pre-owned sticker that means that any issue that the inspection turned up has been corrected to such high standards that the manufacture is backing the vehicle's quality. This is part of the premium that you pay for when you buy certified pre-owned Ford or Lincoln vs. a used Ford or Lincoln. A certified pre-owned Ford or Lincoln meets the maintenance standards set forth by the manufacturer for quality and reliability. Extended Warranty Driving any used car off the lot means that you're going to immediately be responsible for any repair cost incurred. Now, you may get a service contract with the vehicle, but all that means is that you'll be reimbursed for your out of pocket cost. And that's only if the item is covered under the contract. When you drive off the lot in a certified pre-owned Ford or Lincoln you get a warranty as if the vehicle were new. So when you think certified pre-owned, think security. Same Perks of New Car Ownership Certified pre-owned warranties come with the same perks as a new car warranty. That's one of the benefits you pay for. When the manufacturer and the dealership get behind the certified pre-owned vehicle you've purchased, it means that if something does go wrong you won't have to tap your savings to get it fixed. If it's covered under warranty, you have no worry. And that's the security of getting a certified pre-owned Ford or Lincoln over a used Ford or Lincoln. 2018 Ford F-150

Get Ready For the New 2018 Ford F-150

The new 2018 version of the Ford F-150 has some exciting changes that will make it better then ever. Some of the major changes include an entirely new engine to the model, added torque and horsepower, and more gears in the transmissions. When the new model year is released this fall, there is a lot to be excited about. more The New Engine Options There will now be five new engine options for the F-150. The five engines available will be: A 3.3 liter V6 that is naturally aspirated A newly modified 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 A newly modified 5.0 liter V8 The 3.5 liter EcoBoost previously offered The 3.5 liter high-output EcoBoost V6 The last four options are either the same versions available on the 2017 model or ones that have been reworked to perform even better. The engine option that is entirely new is the 3.3 liter V6. It is also a remodified version of an engine that is currently the base option, the 3.5 liter V6. This new version comes with port and direct injection that allows it to work better with lower speeds and loads as well as high engine outputs. It utilizes a dual-injection system that also has intake runners that have been modified for the new engine. As far as power, it is impressive. It offer 290 horsepower at 6,500 reps per minute which is more than the 3.5 liter offered now that only allows 282 horsepower at 6,250 reps per minute. The torque also can go higher and lower than before with 265 lb-ft at 4,000 reps per minute. The current engine only has 253 lb-ft at 4,250 reps per minute. The six speed transmission will come standard with this engine. What is Different With the Other Engines? Two of the other engine options were also modified for the new model year. The 2.7 liter EcoBoost now offers dual port and direct-injection. With this new configuration, the torque is increased to 375 lb-ft. It also allows the torque to kick in sooner like the 3.3 liter engine. It comes it at 2,750 reps per minute compared to to 3,000 of the current model. The horsepower is not changing and is 325 at 5,750 reps per minute. For the 5.0 liter engine, it will also get the duel-injector. In addition to that, it will have a spray-on bore liner that helps take some of the weight off of the truck. The horsepower increased by 10 to 395 at 5,750 reps per minute. The torque increased as well at is at 400 lb-ft at 3,850 reps per minute. The new 10-speed transmission will be standard with all four of the other engine options. All five engines will come standard with the Auto Stop Start technology. With these engine changes, it is still not clear how it will impact fuel economy but that news should come soon before the release of the model year. If you are interested in learning more or taking the new model year for a test drive once released, be sure to stop by our showroom.
